1st year of ownership - Land Rover survey - quality issues | |
Well, the first year is up and the RRS is in for its first service and a longish list of warranty issues to be fixed ranging from the fuel tank slap at half tank, through to loose and clonking drivers seat, external warped plastic trim and internally cracked rear light lens.
Right at this time, LR have sent me a survey to complete, which was good or bad timing depending how you look at it.. Fair to say I have not scored quality highly.. would I buy another RRS again.. no.. for me the negatives of its design and quality now outweigh the cars driving positives ( not to mention its price).
My "loan car" for the warranty and service period is an almost new Disco 4, which is almost the same model I used to own four years ago.. It feels very familiar again and in truth I like the design for practicality and storage, but oh dear, the build quality now seems poor even compared with my old Disco 4, and even poor against the current RRS, the squeaks and rattles are coming from everywhere.. What a shame, I was almost tempted to go back to a Disco for its carrying capacity and go everywhere ability, but now I have more doubts.
Why oh why cant Land Rover sort its quality and build material gremlins... and why do they not seem to listen/talk to owners.. I have completed 3 of these LR surveys now, each time listing the issues and even asked them to contact me to discuss.. but nothing forth coming. To be fair the local dealer has tried their best and in most cases fixed previous warranty problems. but it sure would be nice to be able to talk to LR about the issues. D4 2012 Santorini Black gone
