That's a shame, for a little wile I thought there might be a small chance off a easy fix. I did read somewhere that the fuse box does click when washer is engaged ( if fuse was gone it wouldn't click) will still investigate before call Indy.

Could the motor be lazy and have enough power for single rear & close headlights but not strong enough for double bonnet, or maybe a fault with the two way on motor because it does try to work and spits at me with every press. ( or is it a case of,, if it works it works & if it don't it don't) kind of feel like I'm clutching at straws Rolling Eyes

I don't think the relay can be at fault. Here's the wiring diagram:

If either side of the relay alone were failing, the pump would simply not work in that direction. To get the wrong one to work, there would have to be a short in the wires, and in that case the pump wouldn't be working at all and the fuse would blow.

The wiper relay is in the Battery Junction Box - relays 2 and 3; I think the fast one is relay 2. Try swapping that with relay 5 (fogs) and see if that makes a difference. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Hi mate, thanks, will try that when get new pump, Embarassed I took bumper of and had play about with pump and pipes, I swapped pipes around to see if front will work and rear not and just as I thought fronts worked ok rear no washer jet. I THINK/HOPE it's a problem with the pump, anyway long story short I wanted to see what was inside The pump and try figure out what was wrong and being a heavy handed monkey Whistle I broke a small metal tab in the lid part. (I think they are meant to be sealed units anyway) hopefully will put new motor on and all be well again. HOPEFULLY. if not first thing I will try is swapping relays as you suggested. Thumbs Up

You can't swap the wiper and fog relays because

1) The fog relays aren't fitted

2) The wiper relays will be 5 pin (a fog would be 4 pin)

You could swap the slow and fast ones round, but be careful you don't get caught out with no wipers in a storm

I think you may have to live with the pipes being swapped round for a while longer.

A good temporary solution.

Well motor not arrived today.. So Very Happy Being to inpatient to wait I decided to take the wife's motor off her car (she wasn't impressed Rolling Eyes ) and modify it to test on the sport. Worked a treat so it was the motor faulty, must of had something to do with the 2 way system. Hopefully will arrive tomorrow so I can put back together and treat it to a clean, it must of felt neglected and wanted some attention.

Put the motor back on Wifey car but still not impressed, I can live with that as long as the sport is going to be ok. Thumbs Up
