L494 Inner front grill

Could any one tell me what the inner grill blind does and how it works

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Firenze Red

They have 14 positions between fully open to closed and ECU control this to achieve the best cooling and aerodynamics. According to workshop manual they take 30 sec to open fully and 90 sec to close fully and all 10 vanes are operated by one motor.
it also has a jet wash mode to wash the radiator after going through mud.

JET WASH MODE
Jet wash mode allows the motor to fully open the vanes and then power down so that the radiator can be cleaned.
To activate jet wash mode:
Start the engine.
Stop the engine and turn the ignition off.
Turn the ignition on (do not start the engine).
Select Terrain Response® sand mode.
Turn the ignition off.
