Took mine in for service today and they mentioned that there is a KVM replacement for mine, MY16, and when I checked on TOPIX its listed as Q606. So looks like this is new round of KVM replacement as mine already had a fix for the previous issues with read only KVM fix.

That showed up on Topix for mine in early August.

Contacted dealer and asked if it could be done at the first service in October, told no, needs to be done ASAP. So, car was booked in for 31st August (earliest slot), only to get a phone call two days before saying they can't do it as there is a problem with the new KVM's not accepting the software download from LR - "will advise new date when LR have resolved problem"!

Now the question:- IS there a problem with the new KVM/software, OR, had they over booked the workshop prior to the 1st September new registrations.

The cynic in me says the later and in true LR dealer fashion they have forgotten to follow up with a new booking.

The nearest LR dealer is a 250 mile round trip so not just a case of dropping the car off at any time.

I got booked in to do this in Oct, so looks like its not quite ready yet.

Mine is in September 21st for its first service and software updates. Thy mentioned this so doing it too then. I was surprised as I thought all my16 cars were done! MY16 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography in Aleutian silver, stealth pack and toys.

Can anyone please tell me in simple english what the KVM replacement is Cheers

Keyless Vehicle Module, this was replaced back in the 2015 to fix the issue of RRS being stolen with a new key being programmed by the thieves. All MY16 had a updated KVM that only allows two keys only from the factory but now a new round of replacement, It could be that they have found another vulnerability. Not sure if this would apply to previous year models as well, perhaps someone with MY15 or MY14 could check it by visiting TOPIX.
Both keys need to be taken to the dealer for KVM replacement.

I just checked ToPIX as well, and there are no outstanding actions for my MY15 vehicle either.
