Belgium 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Ipanema Sand
MY10 Range Rover Sport TDV6

Hi all

First post, but I have been reading for a little while now - I waited to post until I got around properly cleaning the car for some pictures.

About 2 months ago I bought a RRS MY10 and I have been loving the car for every single minute so far. I actually bought the car of my parents who had bought it 4 years ago from the local LR dealership - they sold it because they have a RRS2 on order.

So I was already very familiar with the car. It's a 2009 (MY10) HSE TDV6, 211HP with +-108000 km (67000 miles) on the clock in Ipanema Sand and Arabica coloured interior.

Thanks to the incredible amount of information on this forum and all the people helping each other, I have already invested in a IID Tool. So I was able to install the remote timed climate and a bluetooth module.

Anyway enough talk - some pictures! I did a 5 step paint restoration last week, so it looks its best for the forum pictures Laughing

It's not the most exciting RRS around, but I really love the colour combination and it drives like a dream, although a bit more power would have been nice. Oh, and heated seats would have really topped it off!

Thanks again for all the great information and all the helpful people on here Thumbs Up

Lucas

Thanks for the welcome!

@Camelrock I have thought about a remap, but I am a bit hesitant as the companies I have found here are not really specialised in LR and they legally have to inform my insurance company which would significantly increase my insurance. Maybe some day!

Today a Tune2Air bluetooth module arrived and it works flawlessly so far with Spotify. Great device for Bluetooth streaming Thumbs Up !

Did my first longer trip since I have the car - approx. 150 miles to Luxembourg, which is driving uphill going and downhill driving back. It's such a lovely and comfortable car! In the end managed to do 25,5mpg, so was pleased with that result aswel!

It was also the first time I really got to use the Tune2Air bluetooth streaming and it's really great! Everything works as advertised, good quality, steering wheel controls work fast, when you enter the music automatically resumes,... definitely recommended!

I've also installed a little gimmick Cool

Also made a small donation to this wonderful forum! Thumbs Up

It's a small bluetooth dongle (Tune2Air WMA1000) that connects to the iPod cable that fits in the centre console of the car. The car then recognises your iPhone as an iPod device and plays the music like it was actually connected to the iPod cable. Very easy for example when you have an iPhone with a lightning connector.

And because iPhones are able to connect to more than one Bluetooth device at the same time you can just play your music through the Tune2Air and make phone calls with the built-in bluetooth of the car. It nicely pauses your music and resumes after the call.

Unfortunately the modules aren't being made anymore, but I was able to find one through Amazon US - they are about 90 dollars though. Make sure you buy the WMA1000 as the 2000 and 3000 won't work in a Sport (they have other connections)

If you have any more questions or you want me to test something, just let me know.

I have the lightning connection but because of the added size of that and the iphone 6 it doesnt fit in the tray.

Does Deezer and other music streaming apps work with the bluetooth adaptor?

Then this should work perfectly - below is an image of the Bluetooth adapter connected to the lead, that fits nicely on to the tray. You can then just place your phone where ever in the car.

I tried Deezer just now and that works fine - basically as long as it's a Music app on your iOS device (e.g. Spotify, Deezer,...) and that app can stream through Bluetooth it will work. As a default iOS will open the standard Music app on your iPhone, but when another music app is running in the background and has a playlist selected it will play from this music app (in my case Spotify).

This is an iOS feature rather than the bluetooth module (all bluetooth music devices would work in this way). The future iOS 10 will bring some changes in this regard as you are then able to remove the standard Music app, so we will have to see how it will then work - perhaps there is an option to automatically select Spotify or Deezer as standard app - I don't know.

For auto resume of music to work the app has to stay active in the background. So when you are parking your car, music still playing, you turn off the ignition and the music will automatically be paused on your phone. When you drive away (even hours later) the music will resume where it was paused earlier.

Some screenshots:

Car recognises the iPhone nicely. The right top corner you can see the current time of the song, underneath you see the track name (Faded in this case).

Here you can see both the car Phone bluetooth and Tune2Air (WMA 1000) connected (interface is in Dutch).
