I fitted a K&N filter to my Rover 75 Connoisseur Tourer CDTi, and I would NOT recommend these filters on a Diesel engine.
I had problems after four months, and the result was I needed a new MAF filter as the K&N had coated the MAF in oil causing its demise. This ended up a expensive repair, and filter was thrown away, I contacted manufacturer, under their lifetime guarantee or whatever, the reply delighted that their filters could cause a problem and hadn't been reported and mine was the first complaint received. Being a diesel they said would cause no problems unless I had over oiled after cleaning, even though it hadn't been cleaned yet, and fitted by garage on a service.
So their story obviously has several holes in it, I would just say, proceed with caution, they can end up costing you hundreds of pounds, well in my case, I wouldn't ever fit them again. John
