TDV8 mpg

Any TDV8 owners out there give me some realistic mpg figures for your motors please?

My driving style is pretty laid back and easy going with my right foot so would be good to hear from similar folk but all appreciated Smile

Thanks

Most using the V8s will have a slightly Rolling with laughter heavier right foot, and mileage and type of driving/road can vary so wildly, even around town in a normal V6 it drops to 19-22mpg, but I don't worry about fuel used, just love my car.
Not what you want to hear as not currently a V8, but I'm sure the wild figures will soon appear. Laughing John

I agree with Col. Low 20s knocking around town and never better than 27 cruising at speeds below 70. That's using premium Shell fuel too. Oh and real calculated figures not the slightly optimistic dash readout. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

22mpg with a mix of driving - 100 miles heavy traffic dual carriageway and 30-50 miles rural/urban driving per day

On a run that goes up to 26mpg if speeds are kept reasonably legal Whistle

Run on BP Ultimate or Shell Nitro, never supermarket fuel. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Cruising at 70/75 you can get 26 or so on a run. Calculating myself with a mix of short journeys, town and weekend driving lucky to get 20/21. Is no bother to me though as came from a mk2 focus rs which did about the same. Performance in such a big car is great, so the ,pg is a fair trade off I reckon 2010 TDV8

30/35mpg to sit in a quiet taxi or 20/25mpg to have a decent V8 roar where you cant even tell its a diesel...

had a choice between a 2011 SDV6 or a 2010 TDv8,

-ve are older sat nav, no silver strip on back/powered tailgate
+ve V8 noise, V8 perf, proper gearstick, 2 piece tailgate

Hi Stecla.

Thanks for your reply earlier re the fuel figures, good to hear. Just curious but, on your motorway runs, is the car lightly loaded and not carrying full tank of diesel?

I used to use Redex regularly in my old Audi 2.5tdi as it helped quieten down some of the harsh diesel clatter from an older style fuel pump.
It was pretty horrid without it mixed in with the fuel but super smooth with it. Not sure what it would be like in a more modern engine but it will certainly add some value to the drive.

I used to use way more than recommended and every single time i filled up, wouldn't leave home with out it unless I had my earplugs!

Yes lightly loaded. Those figures I quoted were the best I have ever got. More usual is 2/3 mpg less as I do like the noise and tend to drive slightly above the limit when on a run.... 2010 TDV8
