Help required

I have changed my rear passenger side door latch today
However on doing this the cable has come off from the handle and I cannot get it back on
I have been trying for hours with no luck
Is there a way that it goes on I.e removing handle etc

It's the cable from latch to exterior handle it need connecting to the handle not the latch
