RRS Suspension Height Uneven

Hi Guys,

Was speaking to someone over on another forum who is also a member here.

Just wondered if any of you with L494 cars noticed that when the cars parked it doesn't always sit exactly flat, sometimes the right is 1-2cm lower or sometimes the left is 1-2cm lower.

Mine is a 16MY model with the access height thing so it lowers itself when you turn it off - not sure if that is an additional relevant point or not.

The guy I was speaking to said his didn't and mine is pretty minor anyway but was just wondering what the general consensus was when you are parked if there is a slight variation.

Once I noticed it, I put my fingers between the wheel arches at the front and one side normally takes three fingers and the other two or vice versa.

Anyway not a big deal not even going to get it looked out, was just wondering as I previously was in an RR that I think had a leak at the front left as it was always sitting right down at that corner when you left it over night.

Cheers
DM

If it's level when driving try putting it into access height before you stop and see if it's then level.

Ah, there you are, DM

I had a similar issue with my MY11 a couple of months back, but after a bit of 'playing up and down', it sorted itself out. Was checked when the car was in for warranty work too, and all was well then. it was the nearside rear on mine that was a good 4cm or so lower than the other 3, so really noticeable...

I had that about a year ago on mine.
I actually called LR Assist out, he scratched his head bit.
Left it with dealer for a day, they thoroughly checked it out and said it was within manufacturer tolerances.
Seemed to level itself out. Not noticed it since.

If it's still annoying you, it can be reset using the Gap Diagnostic IID BT Tool, which if you don't have, some of our mobile engineers sponsoring on this site do, and you can set it properly, or at individual heights you prefer, by using one of these. Hope that helps. Very Happy John

Just the odd member wth a misplaced sense of humour, lol.

Fingered my car this morning in both acess and normal heights, no differences. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

Just to add: I noticed the same problem on my last Audi Allroad with air suspension – one corner over an inch lower than the others at rest (though the car immediately levelled out at all heights once running). At first service Audi diagnostics refused to accept there was a problem, the mechanics also refused to acknowledge it even with a tape measure showing the difference. So nothing was done and the car was still sitting in exactly the same way six years later when I sold it.
