Finally got my car back after half a year of waiting and frustration. The good news is that it's got a new 3.0 TDV6 engine under JLR warranty and it is running fine so far.
However some worries: the dealership has poured Castrol Edge 5W40 FST Titanium in it (ford spec... 913A, non DPF). According to the manual it needs 5W30 only (ford....934 B for DPF engines)
Reading a TOPIx on this issue of 2011 i.e. a warning for chrankshaft bearing problems I do not feel 100% comfortable yet.
The dealership insists it the right oil, needed for any warranty.... Confused

According to the Castrol oil checker site for our cars http://applications.castrol.com/oilselecto...2012-2013) it says there is no suitable oil that would be OK to use on the facelift L320 model 2011-2013.
This came as a great surprise as Hatfields of Pickering always use the very expensive Edge oil on services of my car, and I assumed this was the correct oil to use. I will be chasing this up.

The exact statement reads as follows, do there may be further info somewhere?

The only Castol oil that meets the spec is Castrol Edge Professional c1. But 5w40 is the wrong viscosity completely...

The bill says Castrol Edge 5W40.
The wierd thing is that I provided the Dealership with Motul full syn 5W30 ( Ford ...913D, could not find .....934B)
They refused to use it.
