Hi, this is all down to battery state of charge/alternator, had same with my '06 s/c, if your battery is on its last legs (not always diagnosed by voltage reading or high discharge test) it will overload and cook the alternator trying to both charge and keep all the electrical systems running. on the safe side I replaced both battery and alternator resulting in all problems solved.

Hi guys sorry for the late reply I've had a terrible few days! So the update on the sport is I dropped it in on Friday after the same fault presenting itself in the same sequence - locks - suspension - turn off sat navigation- disable indicators and leaves hazzards on. When I turn off the car it won't turn on again for 3 mins or so. But then drives as normal.

Ground leads play a super huge factor in electrical problems. I learned this lesson a few months back when I had a delayed start issue. The dealership replaced the fuel pump, filter and a few other things and still nothing. In the end it was a decayed ground strap so before you spend THOUSANDS, get the tech to check ALL the ground leads and make sure they are intact and in good condition. Spend small before you spend huge. |

Thanks all, I've a little spark of hope that I may get this resolved with a little checking. |

Sadly after a lot of tests from my indies, they asked me to try the main Land Rover garage here in Belfast to see if they can get any thing other than what they suspect is the main issue - the instrument panel.

You must hold the record for the most recorded faults.

Okay little update. Might be a glimmer of hope. I tried my spare key last night and drove for around 25 minutes (15 more than usual) and it went without any fault right to the door. I'm going to try it again today but would a key make a difference? |

So glad you got this sorted, the Independant dealer weren't far wrong in the end. It's a shame you can't fit secondhand/used displays, but that's the disadvantage of all the electrics, everything has to match, and all the mileage etc wouldn't match I believe, from a LR mechanic. John
