TDV8 Hesitation on acceleration

TDV8 3.6 2008 RRS. Engine warmed up

I get a hesitation on acceleration. A little bit difficult to repeat. Sometimes a strong hesitation sometime not.

Also when I put my foot down to accelerate hard, I hear the exhaust note change but it is not constant...feels like it is holding back.

Thoughts/advice please.

Chilly

Sounds like it could be the EGR valves. Lots of info on this site, common problem......I had the same symptoms, bought a blanking kit for less than a tenner, been fine ever since....

Ah apologies then, I've got the tdv6 so not sure about the tdv8. Maybe it was a typo on your post but you need to search for EGR not EGO Very Happy

Mine does this too. It feels like good old fashioned 1980s turbo lag. My gearbox is being reconned at the moment so will let you know if it's different after that. If not, it would point to the EGRs. These can be blanked but need a software update too. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

If its any consolation my MY2010 AB has done this from the day I picked it up from the dealer new. Very disappointing. Its only the sound of the TDV8 that keeps me smiling.

Not easy to blank V8 egr's,, software update also required I think, someone posted just the other week it was just as cheap to have 2 new valves as against blanking and software.
Mine. Also hesitates at times, I'm sure this has to do with it staying in second gear when you pull up at lights etc,, try selecting N then drive again to put it into first gear and see if you notice a difference 2010 RRS, TDV8
