Drivers door not locking!??

Having a few issues when locking our 2011 RRS HSE, normally I double tap the lock button on the remote to double lock it, the indicators flash twice (longer on the second flash) car locks and mirrors fold in.

But over the last few days it has been locking, but the mirrors don't fold in and the indicators don't flash, sometimes it will also make a small single bleep, and or the alarm will go off!

Any ideas what the problem could be??

John

The beep means one of the doors, boot or bonnet are open. When you lock it and it beeps walk round the car to see which one isn't locked.
Do you get any bonnet open messages at all?

I have worked out the problem, it's with the drivers door, the chrome latch by the handle (pic below) is stuck, when I press the lock button it doesn't move (stays open) and it's really stiff to push

Anyone had this problem? Any solutions?

Would this issue be covered under my 2 year RR warranty ?

sounds like the actuator wire or actuator itself has failed and not in the usual way
I would have thought it would be covered by the LR warranty (I assume you bought as approved used from LR Dealer) Bodsys Brake Bible

If it's the just the cable it's a cheap part to replace around £15, however to get it to fit to both ends the other end is connected to your door latch which is not a easy job to remove.
Window motor has to be removed along with door window and then the latch removed to Unclip the cable Big Cry

Am I correct that by pressing a door lock button it should respond with a bleep or chime?

Mine (MY12) doesn't make any sounds other than the solenoid noise.

How can I enable the chiming? RRS (MY13) Santorini Black SDV6 HSE luxuary

Mine does not chime when locked also, but do get a double beep if a door etc is not closed properly. I am sure I read an article on here the other day saying that a chime can be programmed when the car is locked,, maybe Bodsey is your man to ask. 2010 RRS, TDV8

Whilst in for a service yesterday, I mentioned the problem I was having with the drivers door lock, they think it's a wiring fault, they want to charge me £60 to find out exactly what it is, and if it is what they think (wiring fault) it WON'T be covered under my approved used warranty! Where as if it turns out to be a component all costs will be covered!

He did say if it is a wiring fault he will speak to LR and try and get a 'good will' gesture, as it's always been serviced at a main dealer!

Pretty disappointed to say the least, I was told if I had any problems the warranty work cover it!

Anyone else had this problem?

I reckon it's the actuator as it sounds similar to a problem I had. Typical LR dealership response - I think they try to scare people off so that they can just do the high-profit servicing. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Got the same issue with mine - double beeps when you press the lock button.
I'll have a look at the driver lock latch to see if it that issue.
Don't have full LR warranty so will have to try it under my RAC one Shocked

UPDATE

Took the RRS in to Land Rover Saturday, it was in 3 days, whilst I had a brand new discovery as a courtesy car

It ended up needed a new door lock, actuator and mirror motor!! And was all covered under the LR warranty! Didn't cost me a penny. Happy days!

Definitely worth paying the extra and buying from a main dealer 👍👍
