Temperature dependant fault

Perplexing fault on RRS SC.
When it gets to normal operating temperature the Engine Management Warning Light comes on with the fault of
( Lean Bank 1 and Bank 2 ). If you don't let it get to normal operating temp ( remove thermostat ) all is fine. If you run the car but don't move then it reaches normal operating temp and the warning comes back. It seems there is a temperature dependant fault but what ? Anybody got any ideas ?

Some ECU tests only run under certain conditions.

There is no point running some tests until the car is warm because you will get all sorts of wild readings. So it may not be a problem when the car is warm, just that the ecu only checks and flags when warm.

What should be more interest to you is both Bank 1 and 2 have the problem. So you need to look at components common to both sides.

Fuel Pressure regulator is on the list for this IIRC. So it would be worth checking the pressure.

What are the codes?

Thanks for the reply Andy.
It just so happens that the EML has come on again (it got to Temp) so will be taking it to my mate to get it removed.
Will find out the codes. We were wondering if it was fuel related, pressure sensor or fuel pump. Apart from this little problem
I chuffin love the SC.

Just got back from my friends garage having had the codes read and EML cleared.
Codes are :- P0171 lean bank 1, P0174 lean bank 2 and for the first time P0087 fuel rail pressure to low.
Going to change the in-tank fuel pump as they put their diagnostic machine on and the fuel pump pressure was fluctuating, think its on its way out and when the car get to temp its vaporising the fuel
just enough to trigger the lean bank 1&2.

Got the SC back after in-tank fuel pump change, no more EML chuffin happy or what.
If your EML comes on and it lean bank 1 & 2 then you'll probably find your in-tank fuel pump
is on the way out.
