Hi I'm not actually new to the site as I joined a couple of years ago when I had a D3 but I've only just got my new Sport, a 2013 Firenze Metallic Red with Ebony and Ivory Interior, a HSE Black Edition. Goes and handles abit different to my Disco.
Right my problem, when I press Auto on the heater contol knob the A/C light comes on as well, is this correct?
I am also after a detachable tow bar if anyone has one for sale.

That's the correct function - don't ask me how or why though - some old threads on here recommend it - tbh i use it all the time now - you can hear it switching between fan speeds & vent directions

More questions, or am I being thick
Sometimes the front and rear screen heater lights illuminate on start up I then have to switch them off, is this correct?
On first switching on the headlights they are first very bright for an instant and then they change to a lower intensity.

Mine does the same but I've also noticed that it seems to depend on the outside temperature as to whether or not the front and rear screens automatically come on. The FBH triggers when the temperature's low so perhaps they're linked to its operation.

That said, don't ask me at what temperature they're set to operate as I haven't worked that one out yet. I believe the FBH triggers below about 5/6degrees or so. I have noticed that they don't come on when it's milder weather.

In respect of the lights, I noticed the momentary change of intensity on my previous RRS but not so much on this one.

I also tend to leave the A/C in auto mode and just let it do it's own thing. Cheers

Below 5 degrees the car automatically switches on the front and rear screen heaters and external mirror demisters, when the ignition is switched on. I often find it does this when they are not needed (no ice) but it's easy to switch off again in that case.

I have also noticed the headlights being bright for an instant and then reverting to standard dipped been. Thought this might be to do with the car checking the bulb integrity by briefly using main beam and worried it might distract or dazzle other road users, especially as it does it when the auto headlights are triggered as well. However I now think this is just the auto headlamp alignment doing its thing. Would be good to get confirmation though. -----------------------------------------------

Ok thanks both for the info I'll check with the service dept. cos its going in for a faulty air flap to the footwells, I'll let you know.

Well it's been in for the several small concerns which I have listed together with the replies, I think this will be an ongoing saga

1. Headlights
First time switch on headlights very bright then dims, switch off and back on again the second time a little less until on the 3rd or 4th consecutive switch on and off no change in brightness.

Repy: This is because the lights are xenon

2. Heater slow to heat up
Although the engine temp warms up quickly the heater output is not warm until approx 20 - 30 mins unlike my Disco 3

Reply: Software updated

3. Heater Auto/AC switch
Switch Auto on AC comes on, switch AC on Auto comes on, switch off the same, what's the difference?

Reply: This is how it works.

4. Foot-well Heater Flap
Foot-well flap not operating to direct air to foot-wells when switched on, front vents and screen OK.

Reply: Now functions ok, problem is the front vents now do not work

5. Transmission
Something not running true on the transmission, reverse/forward slowly and it is audible, faster and then is becomes a drumming sound. Sounds at the rear.

Reply: Couldnt find anything wrong

6. Tailgate Trim
Trim on tailgate loose, fixing missing on offside body on tailgate opening

Reply: Renewed the trim. (But the body fixing still missing)

7. Software
Driving position does not always set to what was previously saved in settings when selected, requires readjustment

Reply: Updated software

8. Drivers Mirror
In the cold weather it sometimes failed to open when operating entry/exit procedure, sometimes still struggles to open/close in warmer weather.

Reply: Lubricated mirror

9. Drivers lower door trim
Drivers bottom door trim twisted not locating correctly

Reply: Renewed trim

10. Front number plate
Not straight

Reply: Renewed number plates front and rear ( I only asked for the front to be straightened)
