Yes you maybe better off buying a cheap run about, and look for a RRS in slower time. |

I would ask yourself if you need the diesel. My understanding is that there is more that can go wrong, there's not much in it with the mpg. That and diesel petrol being the same price at the moment it was a no brainier for me. The wife only does 30 mile a week in it so it made little difference.

So are you saying I might as well go for the 4.4 petrol? |

Depends how badly you need the extra mpg, and which diesel you're comparing with. If you're going for the v8 diesel, the difference in mpg will be less than the v6. If I didn't use mine for commuting to an office 42 miles away, I'd have got the SC petrol. I plan to get one in the future when I am working more locally, or have a company car. |

You could be put off by all range rovers if you look on here too much |

lol that is very true, is there a huge difference in mpg between a diesel and a petrol on a sport? I think I just need someone to decide for me as I'm so indecisive haha |

Well I have got a good 30mpg on motorways in my v6, more like 22-24 round town. It's not a fast car though. SC I've never read anything more than 20. Usually 11-15.

Like it's been said, no matter what you could always get a bad one. However, you could always get a good one!

I'm in Oxfordshire too and there are quite a few round this area, although autotrader distance is as the crow flies, which is bl**dy useless unless you're a crow! Take one of each for a test drive see what you think. Every model has its pigs, too. |

There's a potential 4.2 v8 sc, 3.6 v8 and a 4.4v8 to view, they are all so far away from me which makes it even harder as I'm having to borrow the other halfs car and having a little one trying to find time whilst working shifts to travel a big distance is a nightmare! |

I'm on my second TDV8 and have done 18k miles p.a. for years, getting 25 mpg. I wouldn't have a petrol unless I was well sub 10k p.a. That's my take on it |
