Range Rover sport wobbling 2006

Hi Gents any ideas as to what this might be? The whole car is shaking, not like balancing, almost like driving over cobbles. Worse at low speed.

Wheels don't seem buckled. I've have the rear up and there's 4-5mm sideways movement, so the upper bushes have some play. Front wheels are fine,

Would this cause this problem? Any idea on cost for changing?

Cheers

Are the large harmonic damper weights that are (should be!)slung under the rear of the car and are free to slide still there? There was spell when people were moving them because they didn't understand what they were for and they are incredibly heavy, but they are there to counter pitch and nose dive under heavy braking. Another thing that can cause a wheel wobbling effect is if the car has been offloaded in a lot of deep mud and the mud has been allowed to dry out ion lumps on the insides of the alloys where they act like invisible (until you remove the wheel) balance weights that will put the wheel out of balance. In the very early days of RRS there were a huge number of complaints about accelerated tyre wear and wobbly wheels and it was found that although the wheels had been supplied with balance weights these had fallen off before the car ran off the end of the production line............ Check that your wheel balance weights have not been jet washed off. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Hi mate cheers the balancers are fine. I honestly don't think it's a wheel balance issue.. Defo not mud as my wife only uses it as a bus. It's doing my head in tho. Could sideways movement of the wheels cause it? Ie the bushes?

I rang a garage and they said £800 to replace um 😳

If your talking about your anti roll bushes then normally if they have worn you will hear clonking noises when you go over bumpy roads.
If your wheels are moving side to side (if grab the wheel at 9 & 3 o'clock) by 5mm then would that not be the wheel bearings?

Do you get any noise when your driving over a bumpy road (sounds like something is loose and clonking)?

However £800 for rear AR bushes sounds very expensive Shocked so I doubt it's that what they quoted you for. RRS HSE with a few extras & a
