Not sure a Defender would be a great choice to tow in that snowy slush unless it was a newer one with TC and anti-stall. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

I've always found low ratio and minimal revs works well pulling stranded bus or cars out but many I've seen seen "helping" think giving it revs is the answer as they yo-yo from side to side with wheels spinning - scares the hell out of me and if the rope ever snapped I want to be as far away as possible
