It is lowered by the bolt underneath the floor in the rear of the boot, use the wheel brace.

Thanks, that does help. I assumed you had to do it from under the car as I was looking and it looks as if it would be possible from down there. Isn't this a bit insecure?

You access the bolt to work the winch from inside the car, lift the panel in the boot floor...
