Price gap between dealers and indies

Hi all - my tdv8 needs its 6 year service (b) in approx a month so thought I'd ring round.

All my previous on here suggests independents are cheaper, but in this instance both Rovertune and another good Indy are within 5 quid of Lancaster reading. That being the case, I'm in a quandary as to what to do as have had good service from Rovertune but am half tempted to go the stealer route if we are talking basically a pint difference. Has the price gap between independents and main dealers closed on basis of their popularity in recent months?

What's everyone's thoughts?

Cheers,
Steve 2010 TDV8

Can't comment on the pricing nature, but I would mention it to Rovertune and see what they say.

Either way, I would choose a good indy every time. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Double, check what the dealer will actually do at the service

In my time in the dealer, we had a "Value" service package at £200

Essentially, it was an oil and filter change with lots of waffle/checks Laughing

Interestingly, rob was aware of this and seems he thinks dealers are trying to undercut to get some aftermarket business back. In any case, service aside you are at the mercy of the dealers labour rate for anything else. Will be using rovertune (again), but interesting to keep an eye on.....

This wasn't a value service, was just interesting to see all priced up very similarly - they did quote a 90k b service, so I assume they would have done all that was necessary (although obviously can't confirm that). 2010 TDV8
