Hi All

I have a 2008 RRS, both the heaters in the electric front seats have stopped working (not worked since i owned the car). They have power so i have done a scan....

B1B65 - Left seat heater temperature sensor
- Permanent
B1B66 - Right seat heater temperature sensor
- Permanent

So my question is can i replace the sensors ? if not do i have to change the squabs ? how do i find out the part numbers?

The sensor is part of the heating element. The elements are available separately and aren't expensive. I recently got one for my driver's seat from Duckworths - they're a sponsor on the site and you can find their info in the site sponsors section of the forum. Dan will need your VIN to be able to get the correct parts.

You will need to be able to remove / replace the seat covers. I got my indie garage to do this when the vehicle was in for something else to be done. Less than £40 which included putting the elements on a new cushion (I decided to get a new cushion too and bought a seat pan because mine was cracked). Removing the seat bases is easy enough - 4no T40 bolts on the underside and a connector (two for the passenger side as it has an occupancy sensor too). Don't lose the T40 bolts - they're not cheap when they come in a LR-branded bag! 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
