Hi I received a recall letter regarding the tow bar on my RRS - Obviously it's free as it's recall but does it actually need to be done? anyone else had this?

Yes & yes
If you use your tow bar, you would have doubts every time you towed anything at all. Is it safe?
Unless you have had the car from new, never towed, never will tow, & never sell the car or trade it in, your tow bar will be ok.

Get it checked

If it's found to be faulty, you will get a fixed multi height tow bar fitted for free, that is if land rover havent changed anything from last year when I had mine done.

If you use a detatchable towbar, I would get it done anyway. I'm not bothering with mine because I use a fixed one and I know it fits nice and tightly, but otherwise, I would have it checked anyway.  Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Only covers users of LR-branded tow hooks. If you use an aftermarket one/OEM, e.g. Thule, then I don't think they'll give you the time of day. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
