Ive got a 2006 with 20's and a 19" spare. Thought I'd be oretty imune to this (based on undesirable 19" and older RRS) but I guess not? Also I can't see how they can clip the cable as its pulled tight against the wheel. Or an i missing something?

Lovely looking car Minty. I reckon that colour is possibly the best - it was in one of the Daniel Craig Bonds (forgotten which) in 4.2 SC which I reckon made a few sales for LR as the roar of the V8 was fantastic! Apart from invisible cosmetics, don't change a thing is my advice. It will retain more value as it is. How did you get on at Saxtons? I had a look at several there Smile

I know some people don't like Saxtons, but they were good for me.

Sales - were willing to get a lot of little minor odds and sods sorted before I took delivery - a lot of 2nd hand car dealers will just give you the old "sold as seen" speech ..... and I received a lot of this whilst looking at cars at other places before I bought mine.

I had two warning lights come on within the first week of owning my RRS -

1/. red airbag light which just needed a module software upgrade
2/. AFS front light flashing yellow light - they replaced the headlight

Also, the actuator for the fuel flap had gone, meaning it wouldn't lock
- they sorted them all out without any argument or fuss.

So, really cannot complain - as I said, a lot of dealers would just shrug their shoulders and ask what you expect from a 9 year old car. Rangie History ....

Citizen55 - on the older winch cable, the end is a spring to allow you to tighten the cable ..... but the coils in the spring seem to allow just enough room to get the bolt cutters onto the cable ..... bye-bye wheel Sad

As a victim, I can only say get an RLD protector. That's what I'll be doing once I've sorted out replacement wheel/tyre/winch. Rangie History ....

Ah OK, thanks Minty - I think I will get one then. Someone here sells them, but I can't remember who or how to get hold of them.

Ray (RLD) is the man for these.

PS - apparently, they can also get the cutters to the wire between the spokes of the wheel Sad Ray's protector covers both weak points:
