Hi peeps ! 2006 Sport HSE. Driving back from a weekend away I felt a vibrating similar to out of balance wheels BUT not from the front end. I drove on to the next available layby to have a look and noticed smoke plus a burning smell coming from the drivers side rear wheel area! I gathered it must have bee the EPB that had not released properly ? (been in Cumbria and it was below freezing overnight) I let it cool down and tried several times "rocking" the car in drive, then reverse taking the EPB on and off. My friend suggested knocking the disc centre hub jobby to try and "release" said EPB ! This seemed to work ok and we drove home with no further issues .HOWEVER ! being a motorcycle guy rather than a 4 wheel drive person I need advice please on what I should do to check out any relevant damage that may have been caused ! Hoping some one can guide me in the right direction on this one ! Thanks in anticipation

Sounds like you need to take the disks off and have a proper look at any family springs or clips or just cruddy epb shoes.

There's a guy round here with some instructions somewhere........

Many thanks for your reply Bodsy ! Looks like a day off work and "mi tools are coming out then" Is this "normal" ? as it is the "FIRST TIME" it has happened and nothing has been done to the car recently !
