They can check for pressure differentials at the DPF, and also a soot volume, so they can see just how empty/full the DPF is

According to workshop manual DPF software also has a mileage trigger, so even if the back pressure signal doesn't initiate the regeneration it should revert to milage based regeneration. |

It had only done 7300 miles in the 363 days since I took delivery - 1st anniversary is tomorrow 28th. A lot of the miles have been rack up with 1 run north from London after delivery and 2 further round trips to London and a lot of local fast A roads in Central Scotland. It is the lowest annual mileage I have done in years, usually exceeding 10000pa but have been doing more time overseas than on leave in the last 12 months. At least it didn't cost me to have the regeneration as it was included in the prepaid 5 year servicing deal. It's off to Devon for a week soon too. It is also the 1st new Land Rover product I have had since 2007 that has not needed a single warranty repair at the first service, unlike the two Evoques and the FFRR I have had in that time. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
