I seem to have purchased my RRS from the most incompetent dealer ever... I had the heads up display put in but didn't realise until the car arrived that it didn't automatically include Traffic Recognition - the website is a little misleading. Can I have traffic recognition added as an after thought without too much trouble. My dealer simply cannot answer the question!!

I've just been through this with my new AB ( built last week and currently en-route to the dealers).

I wanted the traffic sign recognition to show up on the HUD and, if you read the brochure, it states that to get TSR you must have Adaptive headlights with AHBA ....AND "dimming exterior mirrors" ( a very small footnote in the brochure tells you this!).

That linked with the fact that to get the HUD in the first place you have to have the solar attenuating windscreen too it makes the £1000 HUD come to about £2300!!!

I did grumble slightly and my dealer reckons that LR will soon be going down the "pack" route where all the things you need for a certain function are lumped together - like they do on the F-Pace.

My dealer and I also reckon the JLR dealer configuration software is poor - we reckon the software could have links or prompts included - but as the sales manager is my mate, we just muddled through.

In short , I reckon a retro- fit of TSR would be difficult and pricey.

many thanks for your reply. Totally agree that the brochure should have links and rather misleadingly the HDU on the brochure comes with a picture of TR - so I assumed it was both. Only when the car arrived did I see the small print that HDU did not include TR. Had my salesman been a bit sharper, I might have had it pointed out to me... I know Ive got the solar attenuating windscreen, but not sure about the other options.

Love the car but deeply unimpressed with my dealer (central london and high profile) and the after sales care is atrocious, even with VIP Servicing package. Plus I got different alloys to the ones I chose and they won't change them, I had faulty hydraulic pipework on delivery and no one will get back to me. After spending £75K on a car I really disappointed

Having bought 6 new LR products and 2 used over the last 20 years from the same Dealer - I've built up a "relationship" with them

They know I come from an engineering / technical job and I'm a Landy nut so "we" work together on things. Sometimes they have info - sometimes I get stuff off here and point them at things - and it works well.

My new AB was built bang on time on the 15th Jan, I've already had an e-mail to say it's due in early next week and would I like to see it "off transport".

They've given me my VIN number and I've done a TOPIX spec check and she's loaded with EXACTLY what I asked for.

All they have to do is get her ready and fit the mudflap, mats, bootliner and deployable side steps and I'm good to go on the 1st March.

Perhaps it's just me & perhaps you've just been unlucky - but I read of some of the stories on here where people use brokers etc and then end up disappointed -perhaps I don't get the best deal on the planet when I buy - but I get no grief and a good service - I suppose it's "the price you pay" ....one way or the other.

That makes me feel even worse... I didn't use a broker or try to bargain any deals. Paid up front too. Ive just been treated really badly. But the more I read on here, the more Ive come to realise that I'm not the only person...

The LR HUD is terrible anyway.

I doubt TSR will be available as a retrofit. It's a completely different camera.

Is there any real benefit for TSR?

I have it on the Alpine unit in my Evora but turned it off very quickly. It's just annoying & gimmicky
