Oshkosh won the Pentagon’s $30 billion sweepstakes to replace the U.S. Army’s Humvee with up to 55,000 new Joint Light Tactical Vehicles, or JLTVs, over the next 25 years, service officials said.

It isn't just the armed forces of the world who will miss the Defender, the Guardia Finacanzia and Italian Coastguard have used Defedners for years, so have the Spanish and Portuguese Maritime Authorities. I see Defenders in grey and blue livery of marine departments in some of the most unlikely European countries and also in Turkey. The only place where Defender canot meet legislation is Europe so Tatas is doing a"good thing" retaining the presses and production line and shipping the factory out to India to continue production. BTW I live fsirly close to a Defence Vehicle Storage site and have a friend who is in charge there and informs me that even though thet look like Puma Defenders infact even the last Defenders bought had their electonically controlled 2.2 engine ripped out and repalced with a TDi300 with no electronics. Maye I'm bbeing cynical but I suspect that the utility companies are not stock piling those new Defenders to use later, they are stock piling them to sell on a very healthy profit a few years from now. Our local SSE and Hydro board vechiles seem to be Ford Rangers with all the winch kit and workshop bits fitted to them rather than the Defender 130's that was their stable 4x4 vehicle. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
