I am getting this software update done on mine as well. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top
Gone: MY16 RRS2 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography Dynamic, Carpathian Grey & Santorini Black Sliding Pano/Ebony & Ivory 2 Tone
Gone: MY13 RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE Black Edition, Orkney Grey/Ivory
Gone: MY09 RRS 2.7 TDV6 HSE, Santorini Black/Almond

^^ Scratch that Rolling Eyes Was initially informed they will apply an update to fix it but when I collected the car last week I had the standard respose waiting for me:

We have applied all the latest software updates and it still turns off. We have tested on 2-3 other cars and they all do the same thing so we think the user handbook may be wrong. We have contacted LR Technical just in case and awaiting their advice.


Now this isn't something I see myself using much but if it is there, I want it to work. Could be useful to the next owner, you never know.

Sending them a link to this thread and suggesting they contact the other dealers mentioned here who have successfully done it before hasn't yielded a response.

Has anyone got a reference number I can give them the next time my car goes in? Couldn't find anything on Topix.

EDIT: Found this on another forum ... apparently it is not an ECU software update but an update to the software of the SDD tool that they use to upload module software to the car. There may be newer versions of that software available now but it seems "Land Rover SDD Software Update SDD 144.02 Software Management Pack v227" was the first version that fixed the issue. "SDD144_02_v227 - (LR) SDD Software Update 144_02 release note" for further information (which I don't have access to).

Thanks DrFox. Looks like similar information that I provided them which confirms we are on the right track. Just a newer software version which is fine because I said to them there may have been further releases of SDD software after this fix. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top
