Was interested in this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/221966644945 a while ago and after HPI'ing it discovered it had been a Cat-D write off, I told the owner but he just played dumb and hasn't stated it in his listing which is a bit naughty (although not technically illegal as a private sale)

Always surprises me how many don't hpi cars, relying on the good nature of the seller, either that or too tight to pay for a proper one!

Shows as a classified sale on eBay?!

I would give it a wide berth, if he played dumb about the cat D you might find it only has three wheels but he just never noticed  Lot of Landcruisers now sold

He's taken the pictures off - presumably to stop people using the reg to HPI it. The whole ad reads in a way that makes me highly suspicious. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

The picture still show up for me but I'm always very suspicious when the pic are a screenshot

The bizarre thing is that when I spoke to the seller he came across as a genuinely nice chap, and feigned ignorance when I told him it'd been a write-off.

They always do. That's how they can get away with it - sometimes.

Of course eBay has a report item button, which is always useful, but I am sure it will listed in multiple places, so buyer beware,,and the value of HPI shown in this instance...
