A-bar and brush bar with adaptive cruise control

Hi there

I was wondering if anyone can definitively say if the ABS A-bar is compatible with ACC or not? Finding conflicting info doing searches. It's the same for the steel brush bar. Some places say it'll work on an ACC vehicle, some not.

Thanks in advance.

Ross

Hello Ross_F

I have the A-Bar on my car and I am planning to install the ACC.
The A-Bar itself is not compatible with the ACC radar since the side edge of the A-bar sits right in front of the ACC on models 2005-2009.
However, that is if you leave the ACC in the original placement.
I am in the midst of retrofitting this myself and have got hold of the original ACC bracket for the 05-09. I am planning to shift the placement a bit to the left so it will fit in the gap inside the A-Bar itself. Some modification and cutting in the plastics under the front is needed to make it fit.

Most probably I will be able to do this in March due to lack of free time Wink

I will try to remember to take photos of this and post here and on Disco3 forum.

According to L/R parts list neither genuine bars VUB501980 or VUB502510 are compatible with ACC. Apart from that genuine ones are a absolutley ridiculous price. If you fit one I would also tell your insurance company as some took a dislike to these being fitted a few years back especialy the metal one's.

Cheers

That is correct, if you do not move the ACC radar about one step to the left (when standing in front and looking at it). Wink RRS MY06 4.4 V8
