Had my car over a year and half now and I've never had the service indicator come up? Is there a way to turn this on

I don't think there is a light... on the dash, when you start it, it should say -## where ## represents how many days overdue the service is (displayed where your total miles is).. it doesn't stay for long, so could easily be missed.

Does this (not) happen for you?

no its never said anything and i have looked loads of times just not got any ideas as to why it wouldn't work

I thought it was 12k / 12 months, whichever came sooner. My reminder was definitely in days as this increased each day I started it, rather the number of miles it had covered per day. I'm assuming it's the same for 06 and 08 (mine's an 0.

I don't know the specifics of the likes of the IID tool, but it's not something that can be disabled is it? I remember back in the day people would pull fuses, even pull / put tape over the bulb in the instrument cluster (before digital dashes) just to sell a car without servicing it etc. I programmed various features on my Focus RS with a laptop and a cable.. so don't know if this is something that could be tampered with on an RRS.

On my 05 at little service message came up about 2 weeks before the 12 month point, even tough I had only done about 3000 miles
