Q554 - Spare Wheel Lift Assist Strap Missing

Noticed the above action item for my car on Topix. I don't know if it is actually missing from the boot and what it should look like. Anyone had this added yet?

I'm sure there's no rush and it can be done whenever the car goes to the dealer next but sounds like a useful tool (for the LR Assist man) as I have a full size spare. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

Mine was missing as well, dealer ordered one for me, should be in a small black bag in the wheel well.

I would photograph the item for you but my car is still in the dealers broken and this morning they extended the insurance on the hire car to a week on Wednesday, so no chance soon.

Nothing of that sort in the wheel well. Will raise it next time although the local dealers are pretty good at spotting any outstanding actions.

Hope you get sorted to your satisfaction soon Thumbs Up Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

Funny you should say that. I lifted the full size spare out of my RRS today and I thought that there was no way anybody other than a relatively fit and strong person (without back problems!) could get the spare out to change a wheel which somewhat defeats the object of having a full size spare in the first place. Certainly no sign of a lifting strap in my car

I thought the same when I removed the full size 21" spare to look for the strap. I used to swap between summer (20") and winter (19") wheels on my first RRS myself and thought those 20s were hard work. These 21s are manageable but no thanks - LR Assist for me unless I am in a rush and can't wait. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

Well definately get one as it is almost impossible to lift a full size spare out of the wheel well without one....especially 22 inch wheels as you can't get the purchase on anything to get it out....the strap is quite a Heath Robinson affair really but works particularly well.... It is basically a pulley system with a metal bracket which fits on the roof gutter underneath the open tailgate.... This leaves a little t bar hanging down into the wheel well which is then threaded into the centre of the wheel and the strap is then pulled lifting the wheel with the pulley doing most of the work..... Very Happy

Got one on my 64 plate and was fitted on collection with a full size spare....it is almost physically impossible to remove the wheel without one so I would kick up a stink! It is only a £70 k upwards car after all!

I think your salesman is talking sales speak i.e. b0llocks.

We have a 65 plate with full size spare, lifting device was missing, it should have it as its covered in the handbook. Raised this with the dealer and they ordered the kit with no questions.

I should have the box somewhere, if I can find it tomorrow I will post the part number.

Can't tell you the page in the handbook as my book is in the car, which after two weeks is still at the dealers broken and the dealer and LR tech don't know whats wrong with it. 2018 MY19 HSE Dynamic, Santorini, Ebony/Ivory, Sliding pano, Adaptive cruise, Black wheels. Arrived 3rd September 2018

Told by my dealer that the lifting aid only comes with 22" rims, which are apparently heavier than the 20"s I specified. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.

I have 21" wheels including the spare and dealer's service department told me they will order one under this outstanding campaign. They had to book the car in for it but thankfully it will be a "while you wait" thing on a Saturday. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top
