Tasteful Mods

Hi guys Question about tasteful mods.

What are the basic tasteful mods to make the range rover (05-0Cool look better? Grills?Exhausts? Exterior styling etc?

Can someone give me a break down what the best and easiest things to make the range look better than they are please as standard.

Thanks guys

There are lots of opinions on this but as soon as you start colour coding and changing bits you ruin a beautiful vehicle. Stop now save your money and save up for a newer one. Now sold 2010 TDV8 Santorini black, lots of extras and best car I ever owned, and there's been a few. I will be back.

I came back with an L405 FFRR

The car im looking at is a Grey (lighter grey not the dark one) i dont know the name! But it has the black trim going around the side, rear and under front bumper

I was just wondering whether its better to have them all colour coded ?

I know in black you probably wouldnt need to do this but it seems to stand out

Maybe its just me - Love the car but just thinking over loads of different things atm

Have a look at a colour coded one in your colour. Do you like it? Do you like it enough to spend money doing it? That's the question. It doesn't matter what others think.

Before you spend money on mods, make sure you have some put aside for servicing and maintenance. All Land Rovers thrive on TLC and that takes cash. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I prefer factory original cars. I think original 05 cars in good, well-loved condition are absolutely delicious. And will be worth more in the long run.

That said I have made 2 mods:

* Timed climate (you can't see it, but you sure can feel it!)
* Swapped out OEM Osram fog light units for the Osram LED DRL / Fog light unit (since I wanted DRL but dislike the LR dealer fit option - a simple after market-looking strip). Osram LEDFOG101, I think they're called.

I have NO intention on changing the wheels, colour coding, putting a silver strip on then back, or anything like that.

But it is down to personal choice, so follow your heart. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso
RRS TDV6 HSE Lux (MY2011)... Nara Bronze / Arabica - now gone!

Yeah I see what your saying. I won't be doing much to it. I quite like the headlight conversion to led.

The one I'm looking at has 20 inch rrs wheels
I'm unsure if it upgrade to 22inch but first going to see the car later today Smile

Personally, I prefer the sills etc. left as they are. I would put money towards performance/functional stuff (e.g. remap, uprated intercooler, decat, EGR blanking, FBH controller, IID BT, maybe brakes etc.) and maintenance rather than styling. If you do want to make some adjustments, I suggest it will look best if you keep it small and subtle. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

My personal opinion is I like the sills and bumper bottoms as they are in black plastic. Sure I love the looks of the autobiography bumpers, exhausts etc all colour coded but mine sees a fair bit of offroad use so plastic is easy to change if damaged without the need for painting. I also think they look abit more purposeful unpainted Thumbs Up 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black

There shouldnt really be any need for someone to tell you what to change, maybe have a look at others on the forums on google images, for sale etc and if theres one that stands out to you maybe do what they have done.

Modding because others think it looks good or is the right thing to do seems to defeat the point really? I would have said modding was a personal choice?

I like to colour code most of the grey plastics where possible, the paintwork never looks quite finished until it's done imo.

Here's a photo of my old HST with Overfinch Tigers:

Don't forget it there isn't one already done and you ha e the time to run around you can probably build it to your chosen spec for the same if not less ... sometimes...
