Mix Tyres.

Hi Guys,

any issues you guys can see?
I have Conti 5's all round but fronts are past it now.
I have been offered a good deal on Hankooks for the front.
So Hankooks front and Contis on the rear, any issues?

Not a problem really (on the assumtion, of course, that the sizes are the same), but put the new tyres on the back. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Didnt think there would be. Both sets are 275/40 R20.

Why new on the back?

Having the best tyres on the back favours understeer rather than oversteer, and a rear tyre blowout is much more dangerous than a front. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

As Lost for Words says,,new tyres on the back & you will be ok with differant tyres on front to rear,,but I always recommend same tyres across axle.

I have Conti Cross Sports on the rear (12k wear) and have just fitted Hankooks to the front. I would agree with lost for words and tyrefitter about new to the rear however the way Conti's wear on the outside edges when on the front I'm leaving the Hankooks where they are. This way I'll get more miles out of the Conti's.

The Hankook tyres you need are the Ventus ST RH06
