"Just Drive" App

http://www.landrover.com/experiences/news/...e-app.html

Great that it works on IOS 8 we are though now on 9.2 and clearly beyond early 2015, and with just over 48 hours to go I presume this is either scrapped as the new infotainment solution for the eloquent convertible will be gradually rolled out, or that it will now be early 2016.... Anyone know any more.... Yawn Yawn

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

It makes me so happy that my car was not specced with InControl Apps, it seems to have been a complete waste of time and money for those who have it. My last car (a 2014MY Evoque) was one of the first cars built with the original InControl Secure and InControl Remote systems, that delayed my build by six months and when the car was delivered it didn't work and required one of the developement team from Warwick to travel to Scotland to make it work (took about 10 minutes!) but the real problem was about 2 weeks later LR announced that there was to be an upgrade to InControl Apps and that the car I had waited so long for couldn't be updated and neither could any of the other cars in the initial build batch to have it! They were instantly rendered obsolete. InControl remote and secure had been ranted and raved about for at least 12 months on the LR website before you could even order it and then it still wasn't properly developed when it was launched. Seems little has changed since 2013............. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

The only saving grace for in control apps is it has a better audio interface then the standard offering, and of course they give it away now on some (all?) models. So a no cost option... Just drive would of potentially been a useful addition...

I don't like BT audio so rarely listen to music via InControl rather through an iPod connected to the USB port containing lossless files. The normal interface is fine. I only use InControl audio when I want to listen to something stored on iCloud, in which case it goes through my phone.

I also note that many of the 'interesting' features originally linked with JustDrive, such as Messaging, Twitter-feeds, etc, do not appear to be highlighted anymore. You look to be able to get very similar, if not identical, functionality through Siri.

They should stop wasting time and resources on this cr@p and just support the Apple and Google car solutions. LR should stick to what they do best and let the experts in this field integrate their technology solutions. No brainer really and to continue to pursue a proprietary solution is a strategy doomed from the outset as it will always be behind the curve, unsupported by developers and considered second rate by anyone with a smart phone made in the past 3 years.

Land Rover if you are listening please abandon this strategy and support Carplay. It's what (this) customer(s) want(s).

The only way this InControl is helping me is to see the car still in the corner of the dealers workshop with the door and window open, a week and a half and they still don't know what is wrong with it.

LR if you are monitoring this, instead of wasting resources on Apps why not try making the f---ing car work first. 2018 MY19 HSE Dynamic, Santorini, Ebony/Ivory, Sliding pano, Adaptive cruise, Black wheels. Arrived 3rd September 2018
2015 MY16 HSE Dynamic, Santorini, ebony/cirrus, sliding pano, cameras, black wheels - Arrived 1 October 2015
