United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Buckingham Blue
Rear window crisis

Shocked
7 days ago some friendly soul threw a brick through the rear hatchback window...

I eventually hear today, that the part: CQG 500011 is on back order & won't be available before JAN 11th - 'at the earliest'.

As I'm due to drive the family to Switzerland for Xmas next Thursday... etc.

Has anyone in the UK got quick access to this elusive (non-privacy glass) part??

All help very gratefully received... TDV6 HSE - Turbochip, Buckingham Blue, Alpaca, Sunroof & PTI.

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Arctic Frost

That's really bad news jaog62.

The only thing I can suggest on this is that you give Land Rover Customer Services a call, explain your situation and hope that they can source your part from manufacturing stock. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

jaoga.. mate i completely sympathise.. in April our 7 series bmw had its rear window smashed in surrey.. and noone in the UK had one! it had to come from Germany so the car was out of action for 4 days..

Couldn't get one from anywhere.. but it wasn't christmas and we just dumped the car at our office under cover, so we could wait.. breakers may be ur best bet, but if its costing too much, rent a car?

Bad luck mate, is it worth getting in touch with a glass specialist / windscreen company and claiming it under your insurance. It might be worth a call aswell as trying to source it yourself, see who can find one first some of my Previous cars

with out back window.. auto windscreen don't keep rear windows in stock, neither do autoglass or any other large chain of repairers, our insurance company and the AA scoured the country trying to find one! they said, specialist cars/luxury cars, lucky to have the front windows let alone the rear ones!

Can't you persuade your dealer to take the rear window section off one of their demo cars over the festive season just until they can get your replacement one in?? Or even to lend you their demo car until they can get one............... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Sorry to hear that jaog, especially with Xmas round the corner.

If there's no stock, can your insurance company not supply you with a rental car? Is it something that LR Assistance can help you with? I know BMW Emergency Service (which in effect is the same as LRA, they are both operated by Mondial) have arrangements with rental organisations to get you mobile if your car is off the road.

Good luck and let us know how it pans out.
