Wonder if you can help with an issue on my HST V8 2008.

For a while the car felt a bit like the back was skipping whilst pulling away, mainly under load like setting off up hills etc.

Just had some new tyres fitted today, the spare is on the back, it's a 19" spare with a higher profile tyre I assume to match the normal 275/40 20's in terms of rolling radius( the normal wheel is off to be unbuckled)

When I left the tyre shop all seemed ok but I hit a traffic jam on the way home where the rear was knocking with the wheel speed constantly for about 3 miles but stopped above 20mph.
Interestingly on most occasions applying the brake slightly stopped the knocking instantly for a few yards or so.

When I managed to leave the traffic I tried to unwind the diff by reversing etc, I also selected and drove in low range to no avail.

I stopped off in the local shop for 5 minutes, when I came back to the car it drove home normally.

Add to that I have just had it serviced and asked them to take a look at the back, they said all was ok.
