Not specifically this model, but in my opinion, the radars and lasers are now only switched on and aimed at an approaching vehicle, in standby mode there's no signal to detect - when they do activate it, at you, it'll take a split second for a speed reading. At that point, your detector will go off, it's too late.
I could be wrong, but I'm probably not far off, and I couldn't depend on it 100%, therefore I'd rely on it 0% , ergo I wouldn't buy one.
