I would question the way it was repaired and adjusted back up before I replaced the module, its very rare not to be able to fix the module.
After its jammed it's critical the way it's setup and re-adjusted after. Also have the epb shoes been removed and cleaned and made sure that all parts are free to move.

Its not and easy job to do without a ramp!.

I had it repaired at a garage whilst they were doing some other works.
I got my car back last Thursday eve. I went for a drive and about 1/4 mile later the RH rear brake shoes were binding "disc was getting hot and smelling of heat". So on Friday I fitted new shoes and adjusted them. Te shoe on the RH rear which the handbrake fixes to was virtually jammed solid ie it had no pivot. so I think this was the issue.
Handbrake was working fine following the fitting of new shoes but yesterday eve the dreaded screeching noise started again with the message on the dash about handbrake not working. Censored ????

That is adjustment and the correct sequence of resetting the module that needs to be done. You want to start by dropping all the adjusters off back to fully off, then you need to make sure the epb cables are nice and free, then make sure the epb is in the shoe fitting position with diagnostic tool.
Then start to adjust the shoe's only after the above has been done, do it to Bodsy brake bible as a guide. And did you do the bedding procedure?
