anybody know why when i plug my iphone in via aux cable, the volume is a reasonable level when at 35, but when i plug in an android phone, the volume is pants!

My first though, was that its the type of phone, but i dont see how this could affect the car speakers?

Anybody have any ideas?

Assuming you are connecting the iPhone via its 30 pin connector then you are getting a proper lineout signal. Android devices don't have a lineout and can only be connected via the headphone socket which is a lower quality signal. Hence the difference in volume and quality.

You could try connecting the Android phone via Bluetooth using a Bluetooth adapter connected to the aux socket which I think gives you a better audio signal. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

Even then Bluetooth works in a similar fashion to the headphone socket, and the volume on the device needs to be high.
