Reliability TDV6 2.7 or TDV8 3.6

Hi all,

I am looking to buy my first RRS.

I am after either an 2006->2008 3.6 V8 or 2.7 V6, my only concern is about reliability (& finishing touches).

If anyone could help I would really appreciate it.

If anyone sell a good one in France even better Smile

Many thanks guys.

Regards.

From a reliability point of view the 2.7 wins easily from what I've learnt on here over the years .

But my TDV8 hasn't missed a beat in 19 months and 20,000 miles.

The 2.7 is generally the more reliable, but the 3.6 remains very popular. Deduce from that what you will. Thumbs Up

There are still plenty of potential issues that are not engine related too. Wink Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Thanks everybody.

I understand some of you saying failure inherent to both 2.7 & 3.6, but while I agree on the suspension stuff, is the gearbox (& trasmission) specific for each vehicule?

2.7 seems to be the more reliable, at least the engine ....

The transmission is the same. Thumbs Up

Maintainence is key - fresh oil early and often and the transmission can go on for miles and miles. Wink

Whatever you go for, the important thing to remember is that they are expensive vehicles to own, but they are not unreliable if you look after them; get everything done in good time, don't scrimp on preventitive maintainence and you will be able to enjoy ownership hugely.
