Very odd. Perhaps someone could have put a non-standard plug in, but even then, who on earth would make one between a 3/8 and 1/4 square drive?

That's only thing I can think of its been replaced with different size drive It's not 3/8 inch too small !!

You take a 3/8 extension and carefully grind it down on each flat until it fits. It needs to fit snuggly and if you have a slight taper (thinner at the end) you can also tap it in to make it tighter. Gently turn with a t-bar or ratchet and hopefully it will loosen.
