I have an original LR ipod/iphone lead that plugs in just above the fridge.
It works with all Apple products that use the 30 pin connection, and adapter can be purchased to enable use of equipment with the Lightning connection.

Would that work on a 2007 HSE? Do I need another bit of kit?

99% sure it won't work on a 07. What you need is an I phone plug on one end and an aux plug on the other end- that will work much better than two aux ends.

Bit of a long shot but is this cable still available?
