RRS TDV8 3.6 LOWER CONTROL ARMS help please

Hi everyone I have a 2008 3.6tdv8 in need of front lower control arms. Bit of a job finding them for the v8 but I have managed to get from RANGE ROVER PARTS SUPPLIER IN LINCOLN. When they turned up they are OEM quality from Britparts 😉 is there any issues that anyone has had with fitting? ( I’ve heard mixed reviews of Britparts stuff) is there any recommendations as to what manufacturers or where is the best place to buy control arms for this sport? Genuine LR PARTS are very expensive as you would expect. I should add that the Britparts arms do come with 2 year warranty as the original LR parts . All opinions welcome and thanks in advance

Have a look here although I’m unsure of the quality of the parts you’ve purchased.

Others will chip in soon though. 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.

Just had a look at this link and came acroos the 6 pot upgrade which looks a good upgrade option as the 3.6 v8 does seem to struggle breaking the big lump, Noticed theres 2 options for brake pads and Meyle been the more expensive pads so im guessing they’re best? The discs look standard, I was hoping to get dilled and grooved for aesthetic reasons and better breaking if anyone can advise on best discs and pads for the 380mm upgrade?

I fitted EBC grooved/drilled discs GD series or something like that, along with EBC Redstuff pads when my S/C's needed replacing, but I think they discontinued the Redstuff pads for SUV's so Yellowstuff seem to be the choice now. Never had any issues with them and stop ok with no fade, just get a bit more dust with grooved discs, but all personal choice I guess.

Cheers

Good advice Col, Im guessing it had 6 pots? Mine only has standard trw so not even 4 pots so the stopping is poor when braking hardish, I got some 4 pots to put on but thinking of not bothering and going straight for 6 pots instead.

I fitted Britpart drilled and grooved discs to my D3. Been on for 2 years now without issue Thumbs Up

Redstuff pads are discontinued, and quite rightly so. I found an old stock set on ebay, and having had good success in the past, I wanted to have them. Truly woeful
That said, I put them in the XFR, and they are a wonderful pad in that Confused

Since switched to Yellowstuff, and while still not 100% convinced about then, they do work relatively well (I have had them fade also, which is a little disconcerting trying to slow 3 tons)

thanks for the link unfortunately this control arms on this website doesn’t state if they will fit on the tdv8 and I believe there is a difference between the v8 and v6 arms the price of MEYLE and the OEM Britparts is the same as is the 2 year warranty ?? Not sure what to do?

And they show their arms as fitting all engines - IIRC isn't the difference in OE arms between TDV8 and TDV6 ball joint size? Meyle HD will use their own HD balljoints.. 2014 BMW 530d Touring, 2006 BMW 650i, 2018 Mini Cooper S
