An L494 with stop start.

Wish to have a charger, and looking to use it through the factory fit 13pin socket.

Given the stop start technology are there any additional considerations, if not which CTEK or alternative is recommended, charging via tow socket is a must. I assume unlike the old N socket I must have a perm live already?

I have an MXS 5.0 which has a facility for AGM stop start battery. Suitable for maintenance charges of upto 160AH which I would say is more than enough. I charge using the tow bar electrics via a 13 pin CTEK adapter that I brought from the disco forum.

As Buckster said, CTEK has the AGM mode. I have MXS 10 that I have used with L320 (no stop/start but AGM battery) and currently using with L494 (stop/start with AGM battery). I don't have a tow bar so I have hardwired the comfort connector in the boot for charging. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top
