I posted this on the North America link, no replies? Perhaps someone across the pond has some advice...

My addiction means I change my cars too frequently to be faced with this issue.

I've been having this same dilemma so have given this some thought. The actual question is: is the cost to run it to 200k greater than the cost to change? Even a big repair bill is likely less than the cost to change assuming you buy a relatively new second hand replacement. If you buy a new replacement then the depreciation that suffers will be more than the cost of keeping the current vehicle running.

Is that 200k km? The OP will be talking about 200k miles. By 200k miles the value will be pretty much zero... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |
