Super-bright LED for boot area?

Have tried doing a search for this but a lot of the links to stuff are out of date / out of stock etc.

Basically I'm after recommendations for the brightest LED light option available to use in the boot as the supplied tungsten thing is absolutely useless in the dark. I understand that I need one that works with canbus so I don't get an error.

Looks like PowerfulUK used to do one with a whole bank of 18 LED's which probably would have been ideal - but alas they no longer stock it.

various ones, but 6x2 or 5x2 is fine. The bigger ones get very tight, but I do know people who have put them in.

I run 5x2 in mine and it lights up the whole boot. Anyone who I have done updates when it's dark will have seen how bright the interior of the car is Thumbs Up Bodsys Brake Bible

Is that the link you intended to post? Seems to be all about modding the back lights to come on with the front or something rather than LED's unless I'm being thick Embarassed

The LED was out of stock so I had to wait a couple of weeks for delivery but it was well worth the wait! Thanks Bodsy Thumbs Up

No your not being thick, that will give you a ebay link for the bulbs, the rear light mod is just an idea.

Guys,

If I purchase one of these LED bulbs off EBay , are they easy to fit? Is it just plug and play? Or is there more to it? Sounds a great idea for boosting the boot light which is dull to say the least.
Thanks
Munty

yup, just take the old bulb out and replace it with one of these, though do a proper search as I got mine from a uk seller.
As they only work one way, you may have to turn it 180 degrees if it doesnt work first time 07,TDV8,Black, Black Heated leather all round, Rear Entertainment with Headpones & Remote, TV, DVD, Pure Dab Digital Radio, Sidesteps, Adaptive Headlights, sunroof, now working fuel burning heater Smile)))

I appreciate that the cost will be 100 times what you pay from an eBay supplier, my week old 2015MY RRS has LED's in every interior light fitting and the fittings don't look any different to what I had in previous RRS's ............. so you might be able to get them from the accessory desk at your friendly Land Rover dealer now 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Get the 2x6 one (see my photo). It just tucked into the light fitting nicely.. any bigger and you'll struggle to get it in.

I didn't go for eBay ones for the rest of my Sport in the end after reading lots of reviews about them flickering and failing after a few months, particularly when used in side light applications. I got these... they're guaranteed for 12 years and really bright. Cheaper than the Osrams PowerfulUK sell too (about £13 a pack) Thumbs Up
