RRS tdv8 won't turn over after holiday. New battery fitted.

Hi All, need some help! My sport tdv8 won't turn over after coming back from holiday. When I first tried to start it it turned over but the battery died before it started. I charged the battery overnight tried again and nothing. I then bought a new battery to try but still nothing not even a click from the starter. I checked the relays and the one under the glovebox clicks when I turn the key to position 3 and the one in the engine bay clicks when ignition turned on. I read that there is a common problem with the starter motors on these so I decided to change the starter but still nothing. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

Thanks
Luke

I have a code reader that I use with my phone which isn't very good and I was getting a fault code for vehicle speed sensor that was it. But there could be other codes that my phone doesn't show.

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

Hi mate.

This is a fairly common issue with these things. Have you tried with a jump pack or jumping it off another car? Even if the battery is slightly flat or week can cause issues with starting and through up all sorts of issues.

There was also an issue with a bad earth to the engines on some models. It may be worth placing a jump lead from the battery negative terminal to the engine and see if this works.

Failing that then you will need to check your starter solenoid is getting power and switching correctly.

Hope that helps you.
