I have it on my RRS1. There is an aux heater that runs on fuel. It fires up for remote/programmed heating and the fan, that runs on car battery, blows hot air. For hot weather, you are right, it doesn't cool the car but just turns the fan on, again powered by battery (no operation of aux heater obviously). Car is not started or unlocked for heating or cooling.

I used my remote heating throughout last winter and it was a real luxury to be able to fire it up before breakfast and step into a toasty car with clear windows 20 mins later. The remote cooling is less useful because of course it is only the fan that operates. However overall and IMHO, remote heating/cooling is well worth having and having experienced it now myself, it will be one of the first option boxes I will tick next time

+1 on the auxiliary fuel burning heater. It's excellent in winter and impossible to retrofit after the vehicle is built.

There are some complaints here about cars taking a very long time to warm up in cold weather. These are from people who do not have the aux heater. Not their fault because it is marketed as "remote and timed climate" only which some people have very little use of and don't spec. Many don't realise they will not get the FBH either.

Does anyone know what the difference is, or if its a big difference between the Remote Park Heat with Timed Climate and the InControl app Climate start? |

In control app will only make use of features on the vehicle, so if you don't have remote park heat, no heating, mad our market won't allow for the engine to be remote started. |

Hi. The app will start the climate control the same way as the supplied remote does if you have the FBH fitted to your car. The advantage of the app is that you are not limited to the 100 meters or so range of the supplied remote fob! |

I ran out of time to add this to my car but wish I had. If I was able to remotely start the car though like I'm sure was the plan at first then I wouldn't have needed it.

Using the InControl app though does need a good quality 3g/4g data link to the car and if the car is parked close to a garage / building and shadowed from the phone network then it won't work. On my drive, if the car is parked nose into the drive then I can communicate with it from Australia and New Zealand over the internet to Scotland, nose out and the antenna is shadowed by the house next door and no matter how hard I try I cannot access the car from the app. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Can anyone 100% confirm that the app will start the FBH as I thought this was dropped for 16MY? |

I believe it isn't (as isn't Remote Start) on the Sport for MY16. Very happy to be corrected. |

Me too - I hope to be corrected as this would be super useful for me! I have the FBH coming but obviously just with the timer and remote option as far as I understand.
