Australia 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 S Giverney Green
2.7TDV6 Turbo Access

Hi everyone!!!! So I have newly acquired a 2005 RRS, decided I needed something a little more responsible after writing off my sports car last year. I love it, but I do want to do some bits and pieces to it here and there to make my own.

One of the things I'm going to do is, install a boost gauge. Not a terribly complex task, but I have hunted high and low to find how people access their turbo, without lifting the body off. I can find plenty of info on the TDV8s and older models, but there seems to be this void for the model that I have. Even a body off picture of where it is would help!!!

Ps, this is my first post, so be kind

Hi and welcome.

Regarding your question - why would anyone want to do that? Its not the sort of car where you need to keep the turbo spinning so you can use the throttle to steer the car when pushing on is it? Have you been watching Fast and Furious?

Reading the boost values has some value for diagnostics so:

A quick and inexpensive way of seeing live customisable) analog output of the turbo boost is to use a bluetooth dongle like a clone Elm 327 linked to your 'phone or tablet running an app called 'Torque'. You can even use the tablet with a reversed view propped up in the dash to give you a head up display.

To view and create logs of the live values you'd need a IID Bluetooth model from Gap Diagnostics.

If you really must have a gauge on the dash isn't the usual way of connecting it to take a 'T' off the manifold intake hose as this would give a true reading of the boost pressure? So you don't need to access the turbo itself.

Trust me, with a well-used RRS you would be much better advised to spend time and money on getting the important service items up to date - especially timing belt, oil pump and gearbox fluid change. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

I'll second the above. By the time you've fitted a gauge, you may as well have invested in an IID BT, which would give you a whole lot more. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK
